Displaying Images
Once images have been cataloged and imported, use the "Show" tab for a competition to display selected images. Detailed information on presenting shows is provided by the Help facility in the Image Competition Manager. This is an overview of the process.
Image Sequence
Images are always displayed within their competition level, except when "Group non-winning acceptances" is used as described below. The competition levels are displayed in the sequence shown in the "Competition Levels to Display" box. The sequence of the items in this list is determined by the Level Sequence assigned to each level in your Competition Definitions, rather than presenting them in alphabetical order.
Images within competition levels are randomly sequenced. Images in an Image Sequence, a group of images to be treated as a single unit, will stay together. A user sequence number is used to sequence images within an Image Sequence.
If you select "Display Winners", the sequence of images within the competition level is altered. Non-winning images, if displayed, are displayed first. Winning entries are then displayed in descending sequence, starting with Honorable Mention winners and ending with First Place. If a "Best in Show" place has been awarded, a separate competition level is displayed with the "Best in Show" image.
If you select "Group non-winning acceptances", all non-winning entries in all levels are combined and displayed before any competition levels. This group of images will be titled "Acceptances".
Shows
Use the "Show" button to display a show of your images. The images will be displayed using the entire screen. The display will consider ICC profiles associated with the images so the display will have accurate colors if you have calibrated your monitor and projector. Multiple monitors are supported.
Images will be re-sized to fit on the screen, but their size will never be increased to be larger than their native image size.
The initial show starts with a black screen and the show ends with a black screen. A title screen precedes each competition level and a black screen ends each level.
The images may be advanced forward manually by using the keyboard down or right arrow keys. You may backup to the prior image using the up or left arrow keys. The "Esc" key will exit the show mode.
A timed show may be specified using the "Use timer for each image" checkbox. The show will not start until you press the right or down arrow keys. The show will be paused if you press the spacebar, the letter "t", or backup an image with the left or up keys. The "Esc" key will exit the show mode.
A right click on the screen will bring up menus with additional options, but you will not normally want to use this feature unless you forget the keyboard shortcuts.
