Image Competition Manager
Quick Start

Once you have completed the initial setup for your club you can begin to create competitions. Follow the outline below to handle a new competition. Naturally you can easily deviate from this plan to adapt the process for your special needs.

  1. All of your club setup and Competition Definitions must be complete before you can create new competitions.
  2. Create a Group Folder, if needed. This is usually done on your website in advance of a competition so that competitions can be created within the folder. A Group Folder is used to hold one or more competitions. We recommend using a date structure for folders, which is described in detail on your website when you create a Group Folder. Group Folders may also be created with the Image Competition Manager program by selecting the parent Group Folder and using the "Add New Subgroup" button.
  3. Create a Competition. This is usually done on your website well in advance of the competition date. This allows members to submit images for the competition through your website. You may also create a competition using the Image Competition Manager program by selecting a Group Folder and using the "Add New Competition" button.
  4. Use the Image Competition Manager to synchronize data with your website. New Competitions and any images associated with those competitions will be downloaded to your computer for use by the Image Competition Manager program. You can skip this step if you will create your competition with the Image Competition Manager.
  5. Import images. Digital entries can be submitted at the time of a competition using the Import capabilities in the Image Competition Manager program. Non-digital images can be cataloged and used by the program.
  6. Display images with the Image Competition Manager. Typically you would project all images for a public critique at a meeting prior to performing judging.
  7. Judge images. This is often done privately and often using a monitor instead of a projector. Places and scores can be assigned.
  8. Project the winners. Use the Show mode of the Image Competition Manager to display just the winning entries in the competition.
  9. Use the Image Competition Manager to synchronize data with your website. Competition results and any new images will be uploaded to your website. Competition results will be immediately available for display on the website.
